Brewing news Russia: Heineken Russian division increases salaries by 30%

Representatives of the St. Petersburg brewery Heineken and managers of Heineken’s Russian division have reached an agreement to boost employee salaries by 30% starting from May 2006. An official protocol will be signed soon, Vedomosti posted May 29.

The issue of salary increase was first brought up in March 2006. Currently salary totals RUR 13,000 (US$ 472.2 EUR 384.45). As a result, the company’s monthly expenses for salaries will grow by about RUR 3.5mn (US$ 127,131.73 EUR 103,506.5). According to experts of the labour market, average monthly salary in the industry at present totals RUR 17,000 (US$ 617.5 EUR 502.75), at the brewery Baltika - RUR 22,000 (US$ 799.11 EUR 650.61).
